Google Tricks You May Not Know About

Aron Singel, Staff Writer

Google is one of the largest used sources for immediate information on the web, and is currently ranked higher in market than similar search engines such as Yahoo or Bing. But did you know that there are  little Easter eggs hidden behind that search bar? If so, you may be familiar with a couple of these.  For instance, if you typed “do a  barrel roll” in the Google search bar, Google will literately show you a barrel roll!

The same is true when you type “askew” into Google, literately turning Google crooked. * Notice how the Google page is slightly crooked instead of being straight.

There are two more hidden Easter eggs that are known on Google. The first and more commonly known one is the Atari breakout game. When you type in “Google breakout” in the google search bar and click on the first or second link, you are transported into random Google images… that you can destroy with a ball! One thing to be certain: don’t let the ball touch  the ground.

The hidden final Easter egg is called “Zerg rush”. Just type in “Zerg rush” in to your Google search bar and you will be deported on a mission to save Google… From itself! Just click on the little circles to make them disappear before they make Google disappear!

As you can see, there is a lot more behind the search bar than you might have known. Have fun Googling!
