Ms. Merriman was the photography editor for her high school newspaper and edited the sports section for Christopher Newport University.

She not only teaches government, but also coaches track and cross country for Heritage.

She was able to attend a speech given by tennis player Arthur Ashe shortly before he died.

Her son AJ went to Heritage High School and graduated in 2018. Roar Pride!
