Love & Gelato by Jenna Evans Welch is a realistic fiction/romance novel. The story follows 16 year old Carolina who is given the chance of a lifetime to spend the summer in Florence, Italy. The twist is, she has to stay there with her dad who she has never met. Filled with mending the relationship with her father and possibly even creating new relationships, this novel brings the reader along for a rollercoaster of emotions. The message and wording of the novel are pretty straightforward, so if you are looking for a book with a deeper symbolic message, it may not be the book for you. With that being said, this New York Times Bestseller is great if you are looking for an easy read that is light-hearted and keeps you entertained.
