Book Review – The Alchemyst

Book Review - The Alchemyst

Taegan Wilczynski, Staff Writer

“Nicholas Flamel lives. The secret of eternal life is hidden within the book he protects-the Book of Abraham the Mage. It’s the most powerful book that has ever existed, and in the wrong hands, it will destroy the world” (Micheal Scott – “The Alchemyst”)

This is the introduction to one of my favorite books! In this book 2 ordinary teenagers get sucked into a world of science, secrets, and immortality. Throughout the book they face villains, witches, dark elders, and gods which they either choose to befriend or oppose, either way they have to deal with the consequences. I really like this book because of all the mystery, and puzzle solving they have to do, even though they are normal teenagers wanting to live a normal life. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes mystery and cliff hangers!

Fun Fact: If you have read “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” you may recognize the name Nicholas Flamel because there was a character also named Nicholas Flamel who was an alchemist that created the Philosopher’s Stone (Sorcerer’s Stone). These characters are not the same, but they are based on a person who actually existed. If you want to know more click here!
