2024 was an interesting time for fashion from the standard “downtown girl” look to the flood of “coquette” we’ve seen a lot over the year. In this article, explore some of the Heritage students predictions for 2025 fashion as well as some of their favorite staples of 2024.
In an interview with Reese Cortez, a junior at Heritage, she was asked, “What do you think will be new in fashion in 2025?” Cortez responded, “Skinny jeans, I’m scared to say it but…” When looking around Heritage, the skinny jean definitely seems to be an upcoming trend. Cortez was then asked another question: “What was your favorite fashion trend from 2024?” Cortez replied, “probably just a lot of bows!”
Sophomore Sutton Long was asked, “What fashion trends did you like this year?” They responded, “Skirts, long skirts, I also like dull colors.” Following up with Sutton to find out potential, expiring trends, they were asked, “What do you think will be out?” In direct contradiction to Cortez, Sutton replied “bows”.
Jamie Saberhagen, a junior, was given a different query: “What was your least favorite fashion trend of 2024?” Saberhagen hesitated before saying, “probably Lululemon, honestly”. When asked about new Heritage trends, he replied, “Honestly, I can see cheetah print coming back in.”
Eliza Kroff, a sophomore, was asked, “What do you think nobody will wear in 2025?” Kroff responded, “probably flared leggings, the floral ones too”. When further questioned, “What do you think everyone will want to wear in 2025?” Kroff felt “probably more interesting shirts”, following it up with “like blouses and stuff like that”.
Finally, Evie Nyilasi, a junior, was asked to shed light on her least favorite fashion trend of 2024. Responding with a laugh she said, “I really don’t like socks with crocs.” This was followed up with a question of what she likes to wear. Similarly to Long, she responded, “I like maxi skirts!”
To sum everything up, Heritage’s students are paying attention to the end of the 2024 fashion season as well as to what new trends 2024 brings.
