Marvelous Marvel

For over a decade, Marvel has been releasing movie after movie, slowly building up to an epic finale. In May of 2008 the first “Iron Man” was released. This marked the beginning of the Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase One. Currently, the world is waiting for “Avengers: Endgame” to hit the big screen, to conclude Phase One. Before that happens, though, “Captain Marvel” will be released.

So far, the MCU has set up an intricate plot involving many characters and backgrounds. The movies are mostly connected, meaning that in order to fully understand what is going on, one must watch the other movies as well. “Iron Man” might have been the first released, but “Captain America: The First Avenger” is the actual beginning. From there we meet Iron Man, the Hulk, and Thor. Once all of them are introduced, “The Avengers” movie events unfold. Once the famous New York battle is finished, Thor’s story continues, the Guardians of the Galaxy group is brought in, and Iron Man and Captain America’s plots continue to develop. Then, “Avengers: Age of Ultron” ensues. After this battle set in Sokovia, more new characters are introduced including Ant-Man, Black Panther, the new Spider-Man, and Doctor Strange. Meanwhile, Captain America and Thor received their third movies. Finally, “Avengers: Infinity War” came out and the world was wonderstruck. Everyone was talking about Thanos, The Snap, and what would happen next. Since then, the only Marvel movie to come out was “Ant-Man and the Wasp”, but it didn’t give any clues as to what happened to any of the characters after The Snap, as it takes place during “Infinity War.” Now the public patiently awaits the arrival of Captain Marvel, set to hit the big screen on March 8th.

“Captain Marvel” seems to be an important installment in the MCU based on the fact that at the end of “Infinity War,” it was hinted that she would play a part in what happens next. The plot in “Captain Marvel” will actually take place before “Captain America: The First Avenger.” So far, all we know is that the movie is set in the 90s, Carol Danvers (Captain Marvel) is searching for her past memories, and she serves in the Air Force. Captain Marvel is also trying to prevent an alien species called Skrulls from invading the Earth. The rest will be found out when the movie goes into theaters.
