The NBA All-Star weekend is an exciting time in basketball, year in and year out.  The weekend provides us with epic skills challenge, a 3-point contest, an exciting dunk contest, a celebrity pickup game,  the rising stars game, and finally, the All Star game.  These events pit the stars of the NBA against each other, as well as rising starts in the league from around the world.

Perhaps the most exciting event of the weekend is the dunk contest, where players compete against each other to show off their most impressive dunk.  The winner, Derrick Jones Jr. threw down monstrous dunks, including one where he spun in the air and moved the ball through his legs, and another where he did a windmill from just inside the free throw line.

The Skills Challenge, where players have to dribble through a course pass into a small hoop, make a layup, then go to the other side of the court and make a three pointer.  The contest was won by Bam Adebayo of the Miami Heat.  He won the challenge, despite only making one three point shot this entire season.

The Rising Stars game was highlighted by the US team dominating the world team, winning 151-131.  Future stars like Zion Williamson, Ja Morant, and Miles Bridges led the team to their victory.  The Celebrity game was highlighted by players like rappers Quavo and Chance the Rapper, and WNBA player A’ja Wilson.

Finally, the main event of the weekend: The All Star Game.  The trend  is lots of offense being played with little effort on defense continued, as the teams combined for over 162 points.  The fourth quarter was played in tribute of the late Kobe Bryant as the fourth quarter would be the first team to score 24 points.  Eventually, Team Lebron came out on top over Team Giannis, 157-155.

All in all, this years all star game was one of the greats,  as all the challenges and games proved to be entertaining and was definitely worth the watch.
