God Of War: Ragnarok review

Josef Al Attar

The story of God Of War Ragnarok continues the journey of Kratos and Atreus as they navigate the Norse world. Along the way, they encounter a variety of gods, monsters, and other mythical creatures, and are faced with challenges that test their abilities and relationship.  The game’s story is full of twists and turns, and players will be constantly engaged as they learn more about Krato’s past and the world around him. The relationship between Kratos and Atreus is a key part of the game’s story, and players will witness the two characters grow and evolve as they face their challenges together.

In addition to the amazing story, God Of War Ragnarok also features stunning visuals and immersive sound design.  The game’s environment is very detailed and vast. The animation and character models are very impressive with unique designs that bring the norse gods and monsters to life. The soundtrack for this game is excellent as well as it enhances the player in the game’s atmosphere. All these elements work together to create a memorable experience.

The combat for this game is another great feature.  Krato’s signature blades and shield from the previous games make a return and are joined by a new weapon introduced in the last God Of War game released in 2018. The game’s combat is fast paced and brutal with a lot of emphasis on strategy for attacks and dodges.  The enemies are diverse and challenging as well with their own unique abilities and attack patterns.  The game also features a variety of puzzle solving in different areas to test the players intelligence and problem solving skills.

Overall, God Of War Ragnarok is a must play for previous fans of the franchise and even new ones.  Although it is recommended you play the 2018 installment before trying this one out, I still cannot recommend it enough. The engaging story, stunning visuals and satisfying combat truly make this game a masterpiece and most definitely a memorable experience.
