After 2 hit singles, countless teasers, and a tour set for summer 2026, Megan Moroney has finally released her third album, Cloud 9. The album has 15 tracks with a total play time of 52 minutes.
Megan Moroney was born on October 9th, 1997 in Savannah, Georgia. Moroney attended the University of Georgia where she was discovered by another famous country singer, Chase Rice. Once she graduated, she decided to move to Nashville to chase her music dreams. In Nashville, she released one of her most popular songs, “Tennessee Orange”. This hit landed Moroney her first record deal with Sony Music Nashville with who she worked to put out her first album, Lucky. In 2023, the year she released her first album, she won Best New Female Artist at the Country Music Awards or most commonly known as the CMA’s. Her second album Am I Okay? landed her six CMA nominations.
Moroney didn’t originally want to become a singer. She grew up cheerleading and wanted to cheer in college, but a career-ending knee injury made her dreams disappear. During her recovery period, she picked up a guitar and learned how to play with the help of her dad. Moroney was in a wheelchair for two months after her knee injury, making the guitar a great thing to learn. After that, Moroney found her true passion.
In November 2025, the hit pop-country singer announced her third studio album, Cloud 9. The build up to Cloud 9 features Moroney releasing two singles, “6 Months Later” and “Beautiful Things”, leaving fans wondering when the album announcement would arrive. After announcing Cloud 9, Moroney dropped two more singles “Wish I Didn’t” and the titular song “Cloud 9”.
Cloud 9 is a 15-track album with collaborations with famous artists like Ed Sheeran and Kacey Musgraves. Many fans say that the album feels dreamy with Moroney stating in an interview that “Your wildest dreams are not out of reach, keep going.”. In her songs, Moroney talks about life, dreams, and relationships. Moroney wrote “Beautiful Things” for her niece, a powerful ballad about growing up and how life can be hard but “the world is hard on beautiful things”. In the song “Liars & Tigers & Bears”, Moroney sings about success and working hard to achieve your dreams, a nod to when she was younger and dreamed about becoming a singer. Moroney sings about the 24/7 hustle one must have to work in the music industry.
In “Wish I Didn’t”, Moroney sings a fun, upbeat pop-country song with a fan favorite lyric, “Stone cold killers have guns/but I’ve got songs”. The final track on the album “Waiting On The Rain”, ends the album with a heartbreaker. Moroney sings about waiting for the sadness when she knows her relationship is falling apart, and she just has to wait for the rain.
Throughout Cloud 9, Moroney stays true to herself; singing about life and dreams, Moroney creates songs that many people find inspiring. The Cloud 9 tour begins May 29th in Columbus, Ohio at the Schottenstein Center. Grab tickets while you still can!
